The atmosphere is warm, welcoming and friendly.
Hi, I’m Sharon Gaskin and this is why I think you'll love Trainer Talk Live
I’m the Founder of The Trainers Training Company, the premier resource to help freelance trainers create successful and profitable training businesses.
Prior to founding The Trainers Training Company, I ran my own training business for 10 years. Apart from the obvious challenge of attracting and securing work, I found personally that one of the biggest problems I faced was how to motivate myself when I was having a bad day or feeling uncertain about a decision.
When you are freelance, you are on your own. Yes, there are plenty of networking events you can go to but generally, they are full of people from a variety of businesses. Plus, they can sometimes be intimidating and you may sometimes feel an obligation to say everything is wonderful when it’s not!
One of my passions is bringing freelance trainers together to learn, share and connect. Creating a sense of community is a key mission of The Trainers Training Company.
So often I hear freelance trainers say that “Freelance training is a very lonely business” … Well, it needn’t be!
Come to Trainer Talk Live and you will get:
- An opportunity to meet and network with other Freelance Trainers
- Sharing ideas, information and best practice
- Practical business advice that you can take away and implement the next day!
- A massive boost of motivation, energy and inspiration!
Can’t wait to see you there!

What to expect from this year's Trainer Talk Live events
Wondering what happens at a Trainer Talk Live event (or need a refresher if you’ve been before)?
A typical Trainer Talk Live event includes two fantastic speaker presentations (find out more about them below), opportunities to ask questions, breakout sessions, a business clinic, and more.
Food and refreshments are provided at intervals throughout the day.
There’s always such a collaborative atmosphere, which we’re sure you’ll love. Everyone is at different stages in their freelance training journey, so all perspectives are welcome.
This year’s Trainer Talk Live events will be run by Karen Cureton, one of our much-loved Trainer Talk Local Leaders.
She has been a Trainer Talk member since 2019 and a Trainer Talk Local Leader since 2020.
Karen became a full-time freelance trainer in 2012 and works with businesses and individuals to help them achieve improved results from their social media activity. She also works with organisations to improve customer experience through sales training.
Originally from Newcastle upon Tyne, Karen now lives in Leicestershire with her husband, teenage son and beautiful cat Lulu (a diva who has her own Instagram account!) When Karen isn’t working, she loves cooking, going to the gym and spending time pottering in the garden.
She’s delighted to run the Trainer Talk Live events, and looks forward to seeing you there.
Presenters on Friday 28th June 2024 to be confirmed
Topic: A positive approach: Elevating your clients and business using strengths and positive psychology
Michelle will share how a strengths approach and drawing on positive psychology not only transformed how she helps her clients, but also how they helped a training business achieve year-on-year growth during the pandemic. She will explain:
- A positive psychology approach to helping people thrive
- How to identify your real strengths (spoiler – these are not what you’re good at)
- How to leverage your strengths in your business
- Tools to help
Michelle is a learning and development professional and coach based in the Peak District. She is also podcaster, speaker, and campervan enthusiast.
Michelle is all about the portfolio career. She’s a woman who refuses to niche
- Helping businesses develop their management capability
- Working as a business advisor helping those far removed from the workforce start a business
- Coaching freelancers to find their direction
But what does she do?
Three words: clarity, confidence, and capability. She helps people find their mojo, pick it up, and run with it.
Outside of her business, she can be found hiking in the hills or exploring in Alphie, her camper van.
Topic: Maximise your impact and influence
We all know that we never get a second chance to make a first impression. And whether you like it or not, your image is crucial to how others perceive you, your expertise, and your business.
It has been found that, if what we say and how we behave isn’t aligned with how we look, then our impact is diminished, and trust can be difficult to earn or maintain.
And, what we wear and how we present ourselves is one of the quickest ways of building rapport with a potential client, a seminar group, or an audience.
Therefore, why let something as simple as clothes stand between you and success?
During this session Gail will be sharing:
- The importance of our Image, both online and in-person
- How to use colour to enhance both your Personal & Business brand
- Tips & tricks to ensure that the audience’s focus is on you and your brilliance!
Gail is an award-winning Image Coach, Trainer and Mentor and her aim is to build confidence in her clients, whilst simplifying the art of getting dressed.
With over 30 years’ experience, she is one of only five image consultants worldwide to be certified on both sides of the Atlantic.
Individually, she works with senior professionals, speakers, and business owners who want their personal brand and visual image to reflect who they truly are. And within organisations she teaches these important soft skills, that once mastered, have a long-term impact on self-esteem, career progression and team dynamics.
